When should you get your wedding dress altered? A fitting timeline for Montreal brides
Natalia3 min read
Planning your alterations well is the key to stress-free final preparations. Here's the timeline I recommend to my clients.
Book about 3 months ahead
I recommend booking 3 months before your wedding. That leaves enough time for fittings and adjustments without rushing. Booking early doesn't mean everything is sewn three months ahead: we plan the steps so the dress is perfect at the right moment.
Fittings
In general, 2 to 3 fittings are enough for most alterations. More complex changes, such as a complete bust reshaping, may need an extra fitting. If your weight is likely to change before the wedding, let me know and we'll adjust the schedule.
What if the wedding is close?
Don't panic. I offer an express service in as little as 3 days, and for real emergencies a turnaround as short as 48 hours depending on the work. Additional fees may apply for last-minute requests.
