How to choose a seamstress for your wedding dress in Montreal and LaSalle

    Natalia4 min read

Your dress is often the most expensive and most sentimental piece you own. Here's what to check before trusting it to a studio.

    What to check

    • Real experience with wedding dresses, not just everyday alterations.
    • Examples of work on fabrics like yours: silk, satin, chiffon, lace, tulle.
    • A clear quote, given after seeing you in the dress.
    • A fitting process explained from the start.
    • Good communication: quick answers and honest advice, even when a request isn't possible.

    Questions to ask

    Before leaving your dress, ask:

    • How many fittings do you expect for my dress?
    • When will it be ready, and what if my schedule changes?
    • How will you preserve the lace or beading?
    • Can the price change along the way, and why?

    My approach

A seamstress since 2010, I specialize in wedding dresses, bridal parties and evening wear. All appointments take place in my studio in LaSalle, Montreal. I work with every type of fabric and explain each step before I begin.
