How to bustle your wedding dress train for walking and dancing
Natalia3 min read
A train is stunning for the ceremony… much less so on the dance floor. A bustle lets you move freely all night.
The options
- Over bustle: the train is lifted and fastened at the waist or back with discreet buttons or hooks.
- Under (French) bustle: the train is folded under the skirt and tied with inner ribbons.
- Wrist loop: a small loop to hold the train by hand, ideal for light trains.
How to choose
It depends on the train's length and weight, the fabric, the lace and the look you want. At the fitting we try different positions to find the one that flatters the dress while clearing the floor.
On the day
At the final fitting, I show someone you trust — a bridesmaid, your mom, a friend — how to fasten the train. One quick demonstration, and it takes just a few minutes after the ceremony.
